Job Description:

 This is an onsite position located in Champaign, Illinois

 

The Field Technician will be responsible for contributing to the installation, support, and troubleshooting of property network infrastructure in an assigned region. Assignments will entail a diverse mix of troubleshooting scenarios and technologies. This position requires moderate technical skills with a high level of proficiency to analyze, research, and implement repairs across data or video networks. This position will travel 80% of the time.

Maintain a customer first attitude to ensure customer satisfaction  Travel to each assigned site as needed to perform outside plant work, low-voltage cabling work, electronics work, and network troubleshooting  Share information and provide feedback to internal teams on a consistent basis  Field calls, emails, and work orders from Pavlov Media HQ  Work with Pavlov Media NOC to resolve trouble tickets within assigned market  Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills and the ability to use them  Understand network diagrams and other technical manuals  Assist with upkeep on network documentation and product training materials  Ensure that network quality meets Pavlov Media standards  

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

Minimum of 2 years of successful deployment experience in data and/or video, LVC, fiber installations, and/or construction management  Minimum of 2 years of experience with experience in troubleshooting networking issues  Must have experience with the techniques, application and installation of grounding, Cat5, fiber optics, LAN/WAN networks  Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook  Familiarity with the video techniques, application and installation of hardline distribution, satellite installations, RF distribution, CATV, QAM, HDTV, SMATV or other video technologies  Current Driver’s License

Professional communication, demeanor, and appearance  Time-Management, prioritization and multi-tasking abilities  Reliable and responsible team player  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  Ability to easily and quickly adapt to changes in processes, procedures and priority  Proficient with LVC cabling installation and troubleshooting  Ability to mechanically tip Fiber Optic Cables with minimal instruction  Understanding of network standards, such as TCP/IP  Sound knowledge of routers, switches, hubs, wireless, fiber optics and other technical components used in networks  Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues on a data network  General knowledge of Video solutions from DISH Network and DirectTV  Ability to install a satellite dish and associated peripherals, video taps, and splitters  Ability to assemble mechanical rack structures and fasten and secure electronics to building structures  General knowledge of different operating systems (Windows, Mac, IOS, Android, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is: $20.00-$32.00/hr

 

Actual base pay for this job will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Pavlov Media is committed to complying with the Equal Pay Act and places a strong emphasis on internal equity when determining compensation. Final pay will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and alignment with our internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organization. The salary banding for this role also allows room for growth, with opportunities for pay increases within the band based on performance and contributions.
