Job Summary
The Field Underwriting Inspector directly supports Field Sales, Direct Sales, and Underwriting in conducting required inspections. Performs the physical inspections which include auto, home, watercraft, and collector cars. Inspections include completing brush worksheets for home policies and marine surveys for watercraft policies. The Inspector is required to upload photos into Scene Genesis (or equivalent application) for viewing by the requesting department. The Inspector documents details pertinent to the inspection and risk. Inspectors must maintain daily and weekly schedules. Inspectors provide qualified referrals to business units that impact organizational growth goals while conducting inspections.



Job Duties

Schedules and arranges appointments with the member/insured to conduct physical inspections to ascertain if the risk meets the exchange’s underwriting guidelines. Performs the physical inspections which include auto, home, watercraft, and collector cars. Inspections include completing brush worksheets and marine surveys. Home photos will include, but are not limited to; exterior of home, interior, yard, and underwriting risks. Auto inspection will include but not be limited to, photos of exterior, interior of vehicle, odometer reading and photos of engine and trunk. Responsible for documentation of details pertinent to the risk. The inspectors manage their daily and weekly schedules, including maintaining calendar availability and production goals.Maintains accurate records of inspections for all work-related transactions. The Inspector is required to upload photos into Scene Genesis (or equivalent application) for viewing by the requesting department.Provides superior customer relationships as to further the Member Relationship Management (MRM) vision of “members for life”. Develops exceptional application of the Auto Club MRM ideology and philosophy as this position is member-facing.Attends meetings, training workshops and seminars to enhance and develop skills needed to perform job responsibilities including structure construction attributes, auto, watercraft and new technology.Identifies cross-sell opportunities based on members’ product needs and service requests. Enhances member relationship by diversifying use of products and services. Provides sales leads to insurance, travel and other departments as appropriate.Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.Position makes decisions within existing guidelines under direct supervision.


Qualifications

High School GED Required1-3 years Prior insurance knowledge and/or related work experience PreferredAdvanced communication, interpersonal skills and organizational skills required.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software including, Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.Ability to function in an independent environment requiring strong organization skills, project/task coordination, and deadline orientated approach to work.Advanced customer service skills oriented.Valid Driver's License, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record and minimum liability insurance - Issued by State Required

The starting pay range for this position is:

$19.11 - $25.48
