Field Worker Agronomy 

     

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Worker Agronomy, are to: 

 

Performing all tasks related to nursery operations including but not limited to: Irrigation operations (installation, removal, repairs, and watering), field valve pressure verifications, field moisture reading, irrigation pump and filtration system maintenance planting pot moisture reading, hand watering, field and greenhouse insect and disease scouting data collection, insect trap management (installation, data collection and maintenance), phytosanitation processes, housekeeping, and weeding;Understands data and identifies, reports and addresses data issues/discrepancies;Collects and enters data using agriculture technologies;Adopt new technologies, methodologies and process improvements on greenhouse, screen houses, an/or open field agronomic activities;Adhere to Bayer’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) standards and complete and/or participate in safety inspections/training and comply with all policies and standard operating procedures;Report issues that may affect quality of products to supervisors; alert supervisor of any risk or issues where the employee’s or workplace safety be in danger;Use and maintain in good conditions the personal protection equipment (PPE) according to Safety Program;Assist in other projects and duties as required or assigned;

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or GED;Basic knowledge of IT (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, or facilities with systems);Ability to understand and communicate effectively, both verbally and written;Ability to learn applicable technology, to include (but not limited to) handheld devices and desktop computers;Ability to function both individually and as a member of a team;Be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs;Ability to work: days, nights, rotating shifts, weekends and overtime to detail and accuracy;Strong attention to details and accuracy;Valid drivers’ license (in order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s risk screening for hiring drivers. Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening);

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Prior agricultural experience;
