What You'll Work On

Coordinate activities for the shift team to ensure delivery of all key performance metrics including those in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, Finance, Productivity and PeopleLead efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance for the shift. Initiate, manage, and make decisions which impact product quality.Drive a culture of engagement through the team and department. Directly supervise a team and participate in staffing activities.Develop all line personnel by securing appropriate staffing, training, mentoring, performance reviews, and assigning progressively challenging stretch responsibilities within the scope of the team and department accountabilities. Maintain a safe lab environment.Engage with employees and other key stakeholders to ensure all EHS requirements are met inclusive of internal and external regulatory objectives and directionPromote behaviors that ensure delivery of high-quality products for our customers while maintaining compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, meeting all local and statutory requirements, and adhere to the regulatory requirements of countries to which products are shippedPrepare and actively participate in internal and external Quality audits and incident investigation and reporting; coupled with timely implementation of CAPA activitiesModel and promote a thorough understanding of what drives product costs, profitability, and cash flow for the shift and within the department, while operating within budget material utilization and Cost Improvement Program goals. Manage budget accountability for Headcount, Overtime, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line. Track, trend and continuously improve budgetary performance for direct expenses, headcount, overtime (OT), and Scrap and Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).Assure that production schedules are formulated to maximize plant advantage and ensure schedules are met.Responsible for the accuracy of the documentation required for production. Assists in implementation of improvement projects as assigned by the Department Manager. Provides leadership and valuable participation in team activities that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the Plant. Assures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels.  This includes assuring communications to Department Manager, between shifts and to related departments. Directs daily and monthly shift communication meetings.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Pay and Shift

This is a salaried position working 6:30 pm to 7:00 am on a 2-2-3 rotating shift. 

Scheduled example

Week 1: Work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Off Wednesday and Thursday.

Week 2: Work Wednesday and Thursday. Off Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor degree or equivalent experience2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment2+ years of experience in leadership roleStrong communication skills, both written and verbalStrong computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

2 or more years of manufacturing experience in a regulated industryExperience using project planning and execution toolsMicrosoft Office computer skillsLeadership experienceExperience working with and implementing Continuous Improvement projects

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00 – $114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
