Film & Fitments Shift Supervisor (Night Shift)
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
*8 hour Day Shift Opening, Monday thru Friday 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Leads a shift of Film & Fitments production personnel by providing leadership, guidance and follow-through in support of the Film & Fitments operations plan. The focus of the job is to maximize production, improve quality and safety of the shift with the available resources. Continuously look for ways to develop the talents and improve effectiveness of Film & Fitments personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote workplace safety through performance of weekly shift safety meetings, weekly area safety audits and weekly safety Gemba walks. Investigate and complete safety incident reports including near miss, incidents to equipment or people. Effectively communicate significant business and production issues to ABM personnel through scheduled weekly shift meetings. Communicate and enforce high expectations of quality and production standards. Effectively lead root-cause improvement activities utilizing shift personnel. Lead effective Tier 2 meetings daily to discuss performance metrics and assign countermeasures as required. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product based on daily monitoring of visual production metrics. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Perform administrative duties competently (ETime system, LN, Virtual Client, shift reports, performance evaluations, safety investigation reports, etc.). Completion of assigned improvement tasks. Support and reinforce three major areas of improvement opportunities: machine setups, process controls, and training. Develop talents of Film & Fitments shift personnel to maximize the benefit or the company and the individual employee. Initiate action on any food/product safety issue immediately. All staff has responsibility to correct or report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Directly supervises 15-40 employees in the Film & Fitments department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D required. Bachelors’ degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience. Supervision, lean and ISO experience a plus, plastics industry preferred. Additional education in quality, safety, mechanical or electrical areas of knowledge preferred.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Previous knowledge or quality control procedures, good manufacturing practices and team development. The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people. Knowledge of quality control procedure. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment Solid understanding of demand management techniques Good manufacturing practices and team development
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequently standing, walking and sitting. Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery. Frequently bend, stoop and reach. Moderate working conditions. Exposure to variable noise levels. Often exposed to moving mechanical parts.
