Filmmaker / Production Lead

About the role:

The Multimedia Production Lead influences creative approaches, scoping project needs with producers, selecting filming locations, and finalizing production plans. This role involves scoping project needs with producers, selecting optimal filming locations, and finalizing comprehensive production plans. You will lead the production crew for both virtual and on-site productions, requiring up to 20% US travel. This position also includes managing production equipment, overseeing technical elements, and resolving production challenges.

What you will do:

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

Lead the production crew as a key member of the in-house multimedia team.Inspire and motivate team members to think creatively and push production boundaries.Communicate proactively with the production team and other colleagues on projects.Collaborate with producers and stakeholders to assess project requirements and finalize production plans.

Technical Expertise:

Manage the setup, operation, and maintenance of recording equipment (cameras, lighting, sound) both virtually and on-site.Oversee production to ensure all technical elements are optimized for the best visual outcome.Demonstrate post-production skills in exporting, transcoding, converting, and archiving footage.Create rough and final cuts for video and podcast projects, ensuring brand consistency.

Creative Vision:

Maintain high creative standards and produce compelling visuals with brand integrity.Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative practices and optimizations into workflows.Influence video and audio projects through creative brainstorming and innovative approaches.Identify filming locations that align with project vision and logistical needs.

Project Management:

Partner with project managers to coordinate recording schedules for timely delivery.Address and resolve production issues, including logistical, technical, or creative challenges.

Travel:

Travel required (~25%, US only); flexible to business demands, with potential for international travel if needed.

What you will need:

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video Production, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years experience in cinematography and camera operation in corporate, agency or broadcast environments.Strong portfolio showcasing quality production outputs, visual design and conceptual thinking.Proven ability to visually translate complex business topics and trends.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills

Expert knowledge of filming using mirrorless, DSLR camera and iPhone 15 & above. Expert cinematography skills including aesthetic shoot compositions, utilizing lighting techniques and set dressing to create appropriate mood.Expertise in virtual recordings through browser-based platforms like OpenReel and Zencastr. Proficiency in all technology and equipment relevant to video and audio recordings.Experience leading production on and off location in partnership with the producer.Strong understanding of production processes, including shooting, lighting, and sound design.Knowledge of video codecs, encoding, and transcoding processes.Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, and Adobe After Effects.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 97,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
