Job DescriptionJob Summary:
The Filter Press Area Operations Manager (OM) oversees the safe performance of 7-Filter Presses and
other wastewater processing equipment at a Veolia Industrial Wastewater plant, while focusing on ways
to improve processes and increase productivity. They will also be the Assistant Site Leader and back-up
to the Veolia Site Leader. The OM will work directly for the Veolia Site Leader to foster a compliance-
based culture with the client, outside regulatory agencies, and within Veolia itself while serving as a
driving force for the EHS program. The Operations Manager is the visible and active leader for
approximately 16 Field Service Representatives / Operators, promoting a favorable and productive
environment for all employees.

Duties & Responsibilities
● Oversee the daily operation of the filter press area of the facility ensuring optimal performance
and efficiency
● Review system performance and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize
downtime
● Troubleshoot and resolve issues
● Collaborate with others to understand the overall operation of the facility
● Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety regulations
● With the assistance of the Human Resources Manager and Veolia Site Leader, manage a team of
Field Service Representatives / Operators providing training, guidance, and performance
evaluations
● Develop, implement, and maintain standard operation procedures (SOPs) for the filter press
area and associated operations
● Monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory levels
● Manage budgets
● Prepare and present regular reports on system performance and improvement initiatives
● Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Preferred:
● Demonstrated people and operations management skills
● Demonstrated project management skills
● Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing process, Six Sigma & or Kaizen Knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS
● Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory
control, variable cost productivity, and fulfillment metrics, quality systems, cost systems, and
fulfillment metrics, and procedures
● Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, & other governmental regulations
● Proficiency in SAP
Education & Experience
Required
● Associate degree from an accredited college or university with 2 years of experience (or a High
School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience) in filter press and/or wastewater operations
● Minimum 1 additional year of experience managing people in a wastewater facility or
manufacturing environment
Preferred
● Bachelor degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Chemical, Mechanical,
Industrial)
● Prior experience in plant operations and people management
● Prior experience in wastewater or industrial plant operations
Working Conditions
● General hazards include working outside in high/low temperatures, working with electrical
panels, working with chemicals, working at heights, and with heavy machinery.
● Travel – 10% of the time
● Work will be performed in a general construction and plant operations environment.
