The Role
The Manufacturing Technician will work in a team environment supporting the manufacture of high purity filtration devices in a new manufacturing facility. The role will begin as a days-only role but is expected to become a shift role as demand increases. The Manufacturing technician will focus on quality, process control/ improvements, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting activities in support of production in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner, assuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics. The role involves supporting the equipment build and validation stages of the project by providing valuable input which ensures key milestones are successfully achieved. The Manufacturing technician will lead activities such as: setting up the equipment following installation, maintaining and calibrating the equipment throughout the equipment lifecycle and actively participating in process development work.
Duties:
• Responsible for setting up the manufacturing machines to produce the products to the specified quality standards.
• Maintaining equipment such as automated assembly machines, pick and place systems, packaging equipment, inspection equipment, production and lab testing equipment, and support utilities in a cleanroom environment. Use of the CMMS/ SAP for maintenance management.
• Familiarisation with existing methods used in our US site and transfer of the relevant methods and technologies.
• Champion the use of lean six sigma tools in the technical transfer of products between facilities and continuous improvement of commercial products.
• Utilising analytical methods to deconstruct and inspect devices to support RCAI and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest level and all repairs both internally and externally are inspected and accepted meeting all the regulatory standards (e.g. FDA, HSA, ISO)
• Mangement of spare parts ensuring required inventory is controlled as necessary.
• Analyse process information through the use of statistical process control.
• Identify, develop and implement projects in the areas of efficiency improvement, scrap reduction, product quality improvement, cost reduction, safety etc.
• Produce standard operating procedures for complex tasks to meet current good manufacturing practices (cGMP).
• Capability to work from written/verbal instructions, specifications, technical manuals and engineering sketches.
• Support validation of new and modified products and processes.
• Responsible for carrying out calibrations at the required intervals according to the device listing and completing the relevant documentation.
Who You Are
• Engineering or Science Certificate/Diploma at minimum or relevant time-served trade.
• 3+ years equipment /process experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment (preferably in a Medical Device industry).
• Working experience of automated production assembly machines
• Experience in working within a cGMP, regulated environment i.e. ISO certified/FDA preferably.
• Effective communication skills and team player.
• Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organisation.
• Self-motivated with the ability to learn new technologies & skills in a timely manner.
• Strong organisational, time management and planning ability.
• Computer literate Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
• Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety.
