Final Assembly Technician II - All Shifts

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers you will be responsible for the assembly and development of Rocket Engines in Final Assembly.

This position will require shift flexibility to align with changes in business need. Shift schedules are outlined below:

                A Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00AM-3:30PM

                B Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-1:30AM

                C Shift: Friday-Sunday 5:00AM-5:30PM

                D Shift: Friday-Sunday 5:00PM-5:30AM

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Precision assembly of rocket engine components: combustion devices, valves, turbomachinery, avionics, testRoot cause and diagnostic component disassembly, repair, and workNitrogen and Helium leak testingPreparation for environmental testingHydro proof structural testing of componentsCreating and maintaining strict cleanliness requirements (liquid/gaseous oxygen compatibility)Support the design, procurement, installation, and integration of custom manufacturing and test equipmentHelp maintain inventory of tooling and equipmentSafely work with hazardous systems, chemicals, and high-pressure operationsDefine how to prepare hardware for test, qualification, and flightIdentify, develop, and deploy new manufacturing methods (or refine existing) to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build scheduleSupport the development of manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing processes: receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, test, and integration, and refurbishmentIdentify non-conformances and escapes, support and deploy corrective actions

Minimum Qualifications:

2 to 4 years of manufacturing or engine assembly experienceMastery of precision and tight tolerance assemblyStrong ability to interpret engineering drawingsExtensive experience reading and understanding specifications and detailed work instructionsProven experience and successful track record in developing new processesStrong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organizationAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Physical Requirements:Climb ladders and stairsLift and carry 50 lbs. for limited durationsWork schedule may vary depending on business needRemain flexible by working overtime and weekends (when necessary)Able and willing to travel for the first 6-12 months for training.
