Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing a project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays. We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to lead the transformation of our Final Mile under Project Next Mile. The scope of Project Next Mile is to create a pathway to consolidate the physical final mile network from 126 LDC locations today down to 93 LDC locations, to relocate about 25 locations to be better positioned to serve our customers, and to diversify our 3PL partners by transitioning existing business to a portfolio of at least 10 providers.


This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, from ensuring 3PL & LDC preparedness to process standardization, readiness plans, and post go-live support. The ideal candidate has a strong background in supply chain operations, project management, and a proven track record of successfully launching similarly complex projects.
 

Your responsibilities will include Develop and manage a detailed project plan encompassing scope, timeline, budget, and resources.Oversee 3PL readiness preparation, including technical installation capabilities, staffing plans, training readiness on core operational requirements such as SAP transactions, returns, and inventory management.Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations both pre and post go-live. Oversee LDC site preparation, including turnback requirements to transition building back to the landlord, lease transfers, validation of 3PL LDC location readiness, and set up of utilities or other facility requirementsParticipate in the selection, contracting, and management of new Final Mile 3PL providers.Collaborate with other key project resources and internal teams to train Final Mile 3PL’s and driver/installers. Manage the validation of essential LDC resources such as parts & accessories, PPE, handling equipment, tools of the trade, systems, and trucks.Support a project team, fostering collaboration and effective communication.Track project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and provide regular updates to management.Oversee the Final Mile transformation go-live and ensure a smooth transition to operational status.Conduct post-project review to identify areas for improvement and document lessons learned.Ability to lead through influence and organize large groups/bodies of work are key success factors due to the cross functional nature of the role.Ability to envision new and different ways to work through simplification, process automation, and standardization and bring those ways of working to life Oversee RFQ processes for Final Mile providers, ensuring compliance with Whirlpool requirements
 Minimum requirements Bachelor's degree5+ years of experience in warehouse operations and project management.Proven track record of successfully launching startup projects.Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, best practices, and industry standards.Experience with supply chain projectsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Proficiency in the Google Suite and project management software.
 Preferred skills and experiences Final Mile experience PMP certification or equivalent.Experience working with 3PL providers.Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
