Finance/Accounting Intern

Be a part of our journey at Cleco where we're Energizing Your Tomorrow._ ​ **Work Hours** _Most of our internships are full-time, 40 hours a week, starting at the end of the spring semester and ending at the beginning of the fall semester._ _We also offer the ability to continue on as a part-time year-round intern that can be flexible to accommodate your class schedule._ _All internships are paid and many of them can result in full-time jobs down the road, based on performance._ **Work Location** This internship will be located at Cleco’s **Pineville General Office in Pineville, Louisiana** . **Intern Job Responsibilities** _Intern responsibilities can vary based on the specific role and ongoing projects but can include:_ + Assisting with creating and examining budgets and predictions + Analyzing and updating financial information in accounting systems like general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable + Aiding in generating financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements + Assisting with internal or external audits by supplying requested financial records or data + Providing fresh ideas and working with management to enhance and streamline processes; spotting and suggesting opportunities for automation + Cleco Orientation + Training (OSHA/Energy Wheel/Cybersecurity/Plant Safety) **Qualifications** **Required Education, Skills & Experience** + Must be enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program in Business Management, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field + Experience with Microsoft tools and applications required + Strong problem-solving, planning, and project management skills + Must be in 3rd or 4th year of college program or enrolled in an advanced degree program + Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher (on a 0.00-4.00 scale) + Preferred participation in at least one extracurricular activity + Must have reliable form of transportation **Key Competencies** + Communicates effectively + Courage + Demonstrates self-awareness + Drives Results + Drives Vision and Purpose + Ensures Accountability + Instills trust + Nimble learning + Plans and Aligns + Safety + Strategic mindset
