Finance Analyst
Description As a Manufacturing Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing financial metrics, tracking capital expenditures, and evaluating returns on capital investments. You will act as a key liaison between Finance and other departments such as Operations, Engineering, and Sales & Marketing on major projects. Your responsibilities will include updating management on capital project progress and reporting on performance against plans. This position bridges Financial Planning and Operational Performance. Key Responsibilities: Financial Analysis: Conduct monthly financial metric analysis, monitor capital spending, and assess return on capital investments. Project Coordination: Serve as the liaison for large projects between Finance and other departments, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration. Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on capital project spending and performance relative to plans. Day-to-Day Tasks: Capital Project Planning: Assist in planning, organizing, and executing future capital projects. This includes developing capital spend plans, analyzing potential cost reductions, calculating ROI, and ensuring proper accounting treatment. Project Monitoring: Track and monitor current capital projects, providing updates to management and the Planning Group on performance against plans. Maintain and update the capital budget, monitor spending versus plan, and manage the timing of cost reductions and new product developments. Cost Deployment: Support World Class Manufacturing initiatives by maintaining data for cost deployment and driving cost savings using WCM methodology. Product Development Support: Collaborate with Product Development to ensure timely setup and accurate costing of new parts and products. Pricing Collaboration: Work with Sales & Marketing to develop pricing strategies, providing cost and margin analysis for new products. Cost Reduction Planning: Develop and maintain annual and multi-year cost reduction plans, analyze data, and communicate the impact of reductions to management for budget and forecast updates. Budget Management: Ensure that cost reductions and new project expenditures are accurately reflected in departmental budgets and annual standards.
