Finance Analyst - Inventory
Site Name: Malaysia - Petaling Jaya Posted Date: Dec 20 2024 We are currently looking for a passionate Finance Analyst for our APAC Regional Hub based in Petaling Jaya. You will be responsible to support in month-end GL (general ledger) Inventory closing activities and financial reporting of Market’s results, support in the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations, review of journal entries and execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework, collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end closing, reporting activities and responsible for the financial reporting of the designated entities. These responsibilities include some of the following: Support month-end GL (general ledger) Inventory (and other required) close and reporting activities contributing to Market's results. Support in the execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework. Provide Controllership support and ensuring quality delivery of Inventory reporting responsibilities with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness on a daily basis. Resolve Inventory accounting and reporting issues. Support in the execution of month end close steps in accordance with month end close checklist (MEC) and Operating Procedures in places. Ensure compliance to Regional / Global Finance Hub policies, local Company legal and statutory requirements. Ensure stakeholders queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible, and proactive manner. Collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. C&C, P2P, O2C, FRMC, Stat Tax) to ensure successful month-end close. Supporting the Inventory financial reporting of the designated legal entities. Support other team members through knowledge transfer; sharing of resource, knowledge and experience and best practice thereby ensuring quality is maintained. Support in projects and other ad-hoc activities Participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries. Other activities related to Service Delivery, Inventory and Controllership / Reporting activities. Other Responsibilities: Lead and performing the Inventory Month-End Close activities, ensuring GL and other activities are performed with quality and according to the timelines. Lead the Inter-Company Tracking (ICT) volume’s submission review and analysis. Inventory management (Stock Provisions, NRV, Transfer Pricing, PPV, LAV, GRNI) to ensure P&L and BS reporting for Markets you are responsible for are accurate. Perform financial analysis for both P&L and Balance sheet for Markets. Review/processing of provisions, accruals, standard journals etc. Reviewing and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. Work with the Supply Chain function, Markets and Controllers for any Inventory and ICT related issues/concerns. Review intercompany reconciliations for inventory transactions. Propose process improvements on the Inventory and ICT process. Ensure adherence to GSK ICFW Controls, making sure risks are minimized and all required evidence are in place. Any ad-hoc request or additional activities as required by LOC and management team. Provides support to external and internal audit. Why you? Basic & Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Finance / Accounting CPA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred. At least 4 to 5 years previous experience in similar roles Financial Reporting / Auditing experience including areas on financial accounting, reporting and statutory filing, master data maintenance, Inventory reporting, asset accounting &inter-company transactions. Experience in working in Shared Service Centre in financial accounting or audit functions preferably in a multinational environment. Demonstrate a good Commercial operations mindset and being able to interact with stakeholders at different level. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently as well as part of a team. Pro-active, self-motivated and displaying initiative in solving problems. Actively seeks to improve processes making them more effective and efficient. Attention to detail, good analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to plan and manage workload to ensure all key deadlines is met. Used to work with tight timelines and in a demanding environment. Must be fluent in English – both written and spoken Systems: SAP, Bison, Lumira experience is an advantage. Any ad-hoc request or additional activities as required by commercial and management team.
