Finance and Business Operations (FBO) Analyst, Senior / Consultant
Join our team as a FBO Analyst, Senior / Consultant, where you will take the lead on complex financial analysis projects to drive strategic decisions across the business. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial results reporting, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Advanced Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis on budgeting, variance analysis, cash flow, net present values, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
+ Operational Metrics Reporting: Develop and manage business operational metric reporting, ensuring accurate performance tracking and continuous improvement.
+ Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Design and update financial and business models to guide planning and tracking for complex business units across the enterprise.
+ Decision Support & Business Planning: Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial and operational insights, supporting strategic projects and business planning initiatives.
+ Report Development: Create and refine comprehensive financial and operational report packages tailored to business needs, contributing to robust financial transparency.

Minimum Requirements
Finance and Business Operations (FBO) Analyst, Senior
+ Bachelors' degree in finance, accounting economics, mathematics or related field
+ AND five (5) years' related experience in financial analysis or in a financial, data analytics, or business operations related position in the utility or energy services industry
+ Comprehensive knowledge of finance and economic analysis, business operations, or business planning. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Strong research, data management and effective management communication skills.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and database tools.
Finance and Business Operations (FBO) Consultant
+ Bachelors' degree in finance, accounting economics, mathematics or related field
+ AND seven (7) years' experience in financial analysis or in a financial, data analytics, or business operations related position in the utility or energy services industry
+ Advanced knowledge of finance and economic analysis, business operations, or business planning. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Strong research, data management and effective communication skills.
+ Strong research, strong ability to mine and manage large sources of data and excellent executive management written and verbal communication skills a must.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and database tools.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
+ MBA or Master's degree preferred.
+ Advanced experience with related analytical, financial, database, and/or business operations tools (i.e. Cognos, PowerPlant, Hyperion, Maximo, supply chain and inventory systems).
+ Travel may be required.
Major Accountabilities
1. Performs routine to advanced level corporate financial tasks such as budgeting, variance analysis and short and long-term forecasting for the more complex business units and/or multiple business units. May serve as a business area budget lead/consolidator which involves coordination with other team members.
2. Supports the monthly accounting close process by performing accruals and variance analysis, and preparation of variance explanations and communication to management. Ensures financial events and transactions are reported to Accounting for proper financial statement recording and accounting treatment.
3. Serves as a lead frontline resource for mid- and senior-level business unit leadership and their organizations.
4. Partners in administering department programs / plans by maintaining knowledge of each and preparing ongoing analyses of specific topics.
5. Ensures compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation, files, records or systems.
6. Undertakes the development of limited scope financial and operational decision support and business unit
planning projects and initiatives.
7. Provide support in the development, compilation, presentation and communication of performance report packages for management reporting including identification of significant findings and conclusions through the use of existing technology and strong understanding of business unit financial and operations related data.
8. May support the development of business planning for an internal business area. Responsibilities include facilitation of business plan process, metric selection, gap analysis, and initiative development.
9. Provides training and support to business customers to ensure understanding of new or existing processes; may also provide training to team member within Finance & Accounting.
10. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the primary emerging issues facing the industry and company business specifics.
11. Develops comprehensive understanding of company, unit policies and procedures, accounting practices, and federal and state regulations.
12. Identifies or partners in identifying continuous improvement opportunities within the organization and incorporate continuous improvement principles and practices into business unit partnerships.
13. Provides support to other team members to enhance development and to drive increasing productivity in team processes. Serves as a subject matter expert within employee's own team and mentors other junior team members
