Finance and Performance Management Internship- Rolling Stock

Siemens Mobility US is looking for aspiring finance talents to come aboard for a 10–12-week internship journey where they will get exposure to what happens behind the scenes to make the rail world go round.

During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Finance and Performance Management department, where you will learn how financial planning, reporting and controlling is conducted to successfully steer Mobility’s complex North American business through its growth.

A little bit about us!

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

How does our department play into the big picture?

Our Finance and Performance Management Department is responsible for all financial planning, reporting and controlling tasks in Mobility’s North American region. The team aims to enable fact-based decisioning that drives business performance to safeguard and foster trust in Siemens Mobility’s capabilities and financial integrity. It is further dedicated to cultivate a culture of fairness, transparency and continuous improvement enhancing sustainable growth.

What you will do…

·       Learn about our monthly forecast and reporting processes

·       Work with experienced financial experts to learn about the core principles of financial integrity and financial KPI analysis through shadowing and the assignment of relevant tasks to build up your practical knowledge.

·       Interface with different areas of the Finance and Performance Management department and learn about how collaboration and teamwork drives success

·       Gain insight into Finance and Performance Management’s essentials related to activities such as: Project Performance Reviews, Data Handling and Analytics, Report Aggregation and Presentations, Financial Close Support and many more

Basic Qualifications:

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business Administration / Finance or similar from an accredited college or university Legal authorization to work in the US is required Must reside or go to school near internship location Manhattan (New York)

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 Previous internship experience or relevant school projects Strong communication skills – verbal and written Ability to work on a team Interest in learning about the finance and the rail industry

The hourly pay range for this position is $22 - $26 per hour, based off your projected graduation year.  The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.  Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
