Finance Benefit Eligibility Associate

Description:The primary purpose of the Finance and Benefit Eligibility Associate is to perform or assist in a wide range of financial and participant eligibility functions for one or more PACE Programs. Performs various financial tasks for billing, revenue collection, Medicaid share of cost, member education, accounts receivable, accounts payable, claims, Medicare Part D reporting, member enrollment and disenrollment reporting, and member account analysis. Utilizes various financial and reporting systems and Microsoft products (especially Excel) to perform job duties

Position Purpose
The Medicaid Eligibility Specialist supports participants and families through the Medicaid application process, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted to the county agency for approval. This role involves managing eligibility records, assisting with re-determinations, and providing ongoing support to ensure timely Medicaid enrollment.

What You Will Do

Assist participants and families in completing Medicaid applications and re-determinations.Conduct home visits to gather and submit required paperwork to county technicians.Communicate Medicaid rules and eligibility requirements to families.Maintain accurate records and submit cases on time for approval.Provide support in navigating Medicaid programs such as Long-Term Care, Spousal Impoverishment, and Trusts.Ensure all client information is handled confidentially and ethically.Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and achieve department goals.

Minimal Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.At least 1 year of experience working with the elderly or frail population.Strong knowledge of Medicaid benefits, eligibility requirements, and community resources.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Medicaid systems preferred.Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.Must be able to travel up to 10% within the region.
