Finance Controller, Packaged Gas (Full-Time) - Mississauga, ON

Position Description

The Controller will report to the Vice President of Finance and will be a key business leader responsible for Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, cost control, asset management and business decision support for the Packaged Gas division of Linde Canada, Inc. The Controller will collaborate with senior management to position the business for financial growth and to ensure that the company meets or exceeds its financial commitments. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and effective financial processes, systems and controls to ensure compliance with Corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with leadership and associates to improve financial performance and understanding of key financial drivers and metrics.Oversee monthly accounting close process and timely and accurate reporting of financials.Provides business unit performance evaluations (reporting and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results).Provide economic analyses, studies and counsels on all matters of potentially significant financial impact to the business unit including economic/competitive trends, pricing, cashflow, product line evaluation, capital expenditure analysis.Assist with the creation of effective senior leadership reporting packages that can be shared with key stakeholders including process and business leaders.Support senior management in the evaluation and execution of new business opportunitiesSupport functional leaders to achieve productivity/cost improvement. Proactively promote cost and headcount controls.Improve working capital with focus on accounts receivable and inventory in conjunction with the Business Process Lead.
Evaluate financial processes and systems to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, internal controls, and reporting capabilities.Maintain internal accounting control and SOX compliance. Support internal and external audits.Participate or lead special projects as required.Must be able to manage large data sets for financial analysis.
