Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

 

Position Overview

Overview of Finance Development Program Corning’s summer internship experience is rich with hands-on learning. You’ll live, work, and experience the communities in which Corning operates, while building on-the-job skills. Interns are expected to deliver results against our business and financial objectives, applying knowledge and practices both independently and as a team. Working with a supervisor, you will gain work experience while interacting with key technologies, subject matter experts and leaders. The purpose of the Finance Intern Program is to raise the bar on talent by strengthening our pipeline for entry level roles for immediate and future needs.

Charlotte Requirements:    General Requirements: Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity. Be willing to work at the posted job location


   Education:

Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in: Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics and/or Finance or equivalent


   Technical Skills:

Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint  Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge     Qualifications General cost and accounting knowledge Experience in a Finance/ Accounting with class or internship experience Attention to detail, accuracy, process-oriented and organized Excellent communication (including presentation) skills Excellent problem solving capability Ability to work independently Drive towards continuous process improvement Interest in working in different Finance function areas Inquisitive and curious Personally driven and self-aware Desired - Experiences/Education Working towards a Master’s degree in related area not required but desirable Data analytics software experience desired  PeopleSoft and/or SAP experience desired  Cost accounting/manufacturing experience desired Working towards Certifications (e.g. CPA, CMA, CFA, etc.) Six Sigma Green belt/Black belt certification – a plus

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
