Position Overview 
Lead the financial planning, analysis, and compliance efforts at IMEC as our Finance Manager!

In this critical role, you’ll manage the organization’s financial strategies, budgets, and reporting. You’ll ensure compliance with financial regulations while driving process improvements and mitigating risks. Additionally, you’ll mentor team members, foster cross-departmental collaboration, and contribute to IMEC’s mission of delivering value to clients.

SUMMARY

The Finance Manager is responsible for developing financial strategies, preparing budgets, monitoring fiscal performance, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role involves analyzing financial data, generating reports, and mentoring team members while identifying opportunities for process improvement. The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting organizational goals through sound financial planning and cross-departmental collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to guide decision-making.

Reporting and Compliance:

Generate accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies.

Coordinate audits and implement recommendations to strengthen compliance.

Team Leadership:

Mentor junior finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with organizational objectives.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.

Optimize systems and tools for financial data analysis and reporting.

Risk Management:

Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.

Additional Requirements/Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMA) are a plus.Proven experience in financial management, with preference for non-profit sector experience.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards.Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Salesforce, Excel).Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Attention to detail accuracy.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Language Skills:

Must be able to communicate effectively with community organizations, public stakeholders, third-party resources, client personnel and employees at all organizational levels and to develop effective working relationships with staff and a network of technical resources.

Reasoning Ability:

Individual must be a team player with the ability to exercise independent, sound judgment and discretion; be able to plan; be well organized; work well under pressure; take initiative and be flexible and cooperative.

Physical Demands:

Position requires the ability to sit for long periods at a computer terminal.  Some walking, standing, and bending are required.    

Work Environment:

Hybrid work environment and standard hours with extended hours and weekend work as required. Applicants for this position must have access to reliable transportation to ensure timely attendance at both internal and external meetings as required by the job responsibilities. The ability to commute to various locations for meetings is essential for effective collaboration and participation in team activities.  Applicants must be capable of accessing manufacturing facilities which may not be ADA accessible.
