Job Summary
We are looking for a Finance Manager for North America Scent division.It's exciting times at IFF! We are looking for a Finance Manager for our Scent division. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, developing, and providing financial analysis to assist management in business planning and decision-making. This role involves preparing accurate financial reports, providing thoughtful analysis, identifying action items, and effectively framing decisions that need to be made. The Finance Manager operates in a directed environment and ensures that financial and business targets for a business unit with up to $500M in revenue are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Management Reporting:
Review inputs from Finance Analysts/Managers.Prepare monthly financial results.Formulate additional analysis/input required for monthly Business Reviews (BRs) or Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).Advise senior executives on key drivers impacting the financial performance of the Business Unit/Segment.Forecasting:
Consolidate and review monthly/quarterly forecasts from Finance Analysts/Managers for Regions/Categories to ensure a comprehensive view of the Business Unit/Segment.Provide a thorough summary of potential risks and opportunities for business decision-makers.Highlight learnings from analysis to aid future financial performance.Manage data entry to the Weekly Tracker to give early warnings of deviations from expected financial performance, ensuring senior executives have all the necessary information to act and continuously improve financial performance.Annual Budget:
Coordinate the preparation of the yearly budget, covering top line, COGS, and RSA, and identify key drivers and actions to improve business performance.Direct the overall budget process to ensure it is comprehensive and aligned with strategic business objectives.Ad-Hoc:
Maintain close alignment with the expectations/requirements of the Business Director/VP throughout the budget process.Annual Strategy:
Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of top line, COGS, or RSA in support of long-term strategic plans for the Business Unit/Segment.Review Capex Projects to ensure robust justifications and NPV analysis to prioritize growth initiatives for the Business Unit/Segment.Projects & Process Improvements:
Superintend global process ownership outside of business boundaries (e.g., productivity program).Devise process improvement projects to enhance the quality of reports and analysis delivered to internal customers.Represent Finance in Business Projects or act as SME for the Business Unit/Segment.Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other highly numerate discipline.Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced computer/systems capability (ERP/SAP, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of PowerBI or other visualization tools is an advantage.Strong analytical skills with the ability to present information accurately and succinctly.In-depth knowledge of business finance concepts, including variance analysis, financial metrics, and CapEx investment.Understanding of forecasting and budgeting processes.Intermediate knowledge of the income statement and balance sheet.Moderate financial modeling skills.Experience:
Extensive financial background with experience in financial analysis and/or financial control.Demonstrated experience managing a team, focusing them on common goals, and delegating tasks effectively.Experience in project management, particularly in process improvement projects and implementing new ERP systems.Proven track record of providing support and insights to develop strategic plans to meet the company's financial objectives.Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.Training or Professional Qualifications:
Completed training in Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility.Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA) qualification.Accounting certifications such as ACCA or CPA are a plus.Other Proficiencies and Requirements:
Advanced verbal and written communication skills.Excellent networking skills; able to build rapport and effective working relationships.Ability to take a leadership role in a matrix structure with different partners and cross-functional teams.Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, challenge, and improve current practices and processes.Adept at priority setting, focusing on what’s important, eliminating roadblocks, and working autonomously.Operates in a generally defined thinking environment.Compensation ($120,000 - $125,000) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
