Finance Manager, North America Customer Fulfillment Capital

Our Finance teams help drive the company forward by partnering closely with global cross-functional teams to support the growth of and optimization of our network; driving controllership, innovation, productivity, and cost-effective operations across the North America Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Organization. This role will own the financial close for NACF, a complicated and dynamic multi-billion-dollar network that is focused on driving the dual charter of lower cost and faster delivery. We are seeking a Finance Manager who can understand the macro level strategic ideas and its impact on the micro level activities. The Finance Manager is expected to understand internal controls and their related SOX requirements and ensure all process/controls are designed appropriately and operating effectively. Our key partners include Fixed Asset/Lease Accounting, Supply Chain, Capital Planning, Real Estate, Engineering, and Construction management teams. The successful Finance Manager candidate will have a high attention to detail, strong sense of ownership, unlimited curiosity, and a strong passion for continuous improvement as we work towards worldwide standardization. The candidate should also have demonstrated an ability to influence Finance and business leaders, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment. Given the high level of visibility the candidate should have strong communication (both written/verbal) at a senior executive level, a strong sense of ownership, and a proven record of earning trust. Key job responsibilities • Participate in month-end close and quarter-end close controllership activities in compliance with our Governance, Risk & Compliance procedures • Drives continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of best practices in the controllership area • Prepare key insights in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner as a highly trusted source of information about our financial data, processes, and the business operations we support • Identifies and implements solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes. • Makes thoughtful time management decisions independently. Prioritizes work, resolves issues, meets deadlines, and seeks feedback from your manager. • Discerns between urgent and non-urgent issues and acts accordingly to solve them. • Participates in events, initiatives, and projects, then shares gained knowledge in and outside of the team. • Contributes to work life harmony by being a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members as an indicator of operations excellence. Basic Qualifications - BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) - 5+ years of finance/accounting experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance/accounting experience Preferred Qualifications - MBA and/or Professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA) - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - Experience delivering budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results - Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
