Finance Manager, Private Destinations

Position Summary:

The Manager, Private Destinations Finance, will be responsible for managing the financial oversight of the Private Destinations portfolio. This role will be the key liaison between Brand Finance, Private Destinations, and Product Development to understand operating assumptions and financial implications of the Private Destinations portfolio, from the ideation phase of the project to daily operations. The role will manage the financial modeling, including understanding and aligning on all key assumptions, oversight of financial performance, and oversight of the Private Destinations profit and loss statement. The role manages all aspects of finance functions, including planning, forecasting, reporting, and business analysis for all areas within these operations. This role provides financial leadership for critical business projects and develops insights by working with the operational team across the brand

 

This position will report onsite in Miami, FL

 

Key Responsibilities:

Manages and maintains financial models for the new destinations working cross-functionally with the private destinations team, product development, revenue management, onboard revenue, deployment strategy, and consistently updating reasonable assumptions based on performance benchmarks. Liaises with the Private Destinations team to understand operating plans, in order to build assumptions and financial implications. Liaises with the Product Development team to understand development plans, in order to build operations assumptions and financial implications. Liaises with the Revenue teams to build revenue assumptions for each Private Destination. Manages financial performance vs. Plan and Forecasts for Private Destinations, making recommendations to the Director and VP regarding how to meet or exceed targets. Oversees the annual operating process, including development of the planning schedules, spreadsheet tools, comparative data, and communication of corporate objectives for the Private Destinations team. Reviews all reclasses, accruals, and other month-end entries to be submitted to accounting. Develops detailed variance explanations to plan and forecast for Executive Committee and CFO variance analysis review of operations expenses. Collaborates cross-functionally with other operating teams, including product development, risk management, supply chain, marketing, and other departments throughout the organization. Creates and maintains accurate and real-time management reports and analysis, including quick turn-around of ad-hoc financial analysis in a dynamic environment. Ensures cost controls are following Sarbanes-Oxley, accounting, and other company policies. Liaises with Accounting, Corporate Planning, and Risk Management on forecast updates, planning, month-end closing, and other requests. Hires, trains, develops, and monitors performance of junior members of the Finance team.

 

Education:          

Bachelor's degree in finance and/or Accounting, and MBA preferred.

 

Essential qualifications and skills:             

6+ years relevant work experience, preferably in operational finance with recent experience managing others. Successful track record in financial leadership. Knowledge and extensive experience in accounting and/or other financial/analytical systems (e.g., JD Edwards, Hyperion, Essbase, Excel). Experience with U.S. GAAP adherence required. Strong leadership skills, collaboration/teaming, the ability to develop and maintain a high-performing team, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to fully integrate into Royal Caribbean shoreside and shipboard culture. Leadership skills to proactively manage Private Destinations expenses, support financial discipline, and ensure meeting or exceeding department financial targets and controls. Strong analytical and computer skills, written and verbal communication skills, and working knowledge of associated financial software and communication packages.
