This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. As a Finance Manager, R&D , you will be responsible for financial accounting, reporting, planning and analysis activities. Responsibilities include monthly accounting and reporting, Plans, LBE's,  OEM’s, various analysis and special projects as well as the support of internal as well as external audit and tax reporting requirements. This role will have one direct report (Sr. Financial analyst).This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What You’ll Do

Financial accounting, reporting and analysis, including month-end activities completed timely and in compliance with Abbott's financial policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Financial planning and analysis, including development and support of Plans, LBE's and OEM's as well as consolidation activities.Ensures proper tracking of commitments and expenditures along with proper accounting treatment and timely capitalization of assets.Provides financial leadership and guidance to operations including DCF / ROI's, proper writing of RCE's and Post Completion audits as well as interpretation of the Corporate Financial Manual (CFM's) and topics as well as issues around the treatment of projects and fixed assets.Partners with the ADC R&D team to support the growing R&D activitiesEstablishes and/or enforces internal controls safeguarding Abbott's financial interest and providing guidance and counsel to operating and financial staff.Significant interaction with DHQ-Finance, Corporate Audit and Tax.Manage and develops staff, including hiring, developing and training.Significant involvement in strategic and cross-divisional projects and teams.

Experience You'll Bring

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economic Masters Degree - MBA or other advanced degrees preferred. CPA or other certifications also preferred.Minimum 8 years Finance and supervisory experience (FP&A, Cost/General Accounting and Financial Reporting)Ability to plan, implement and administer financial information and control systemsKnowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reportingPrior supervisory experience preferred.Strong verbal/communication skills along with the ability to collaborate, negotiate and build concensus.Ability to work in a fast paced environment while handling multiple priorities.

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
