This finance position will play a critical role in managing the financial growth and health of the Optum Specialty Pharmacy. Responsibilities include directing financial planning efforts through budgeting and forecasting, overseeing the creation and distribution of detailed financial reports, and managing investment portfolios for optimal growth. The role also involves developing models to evaluate and implement strategic initiatives, as well as providing flexible financial support for evolving business needs. Close collaboration with business leaders and finance teams is essential to enhance business performance and financial outcomes, driving Optum Specialty Pharmacy towards its financial objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the development of strategic business plans and financial models to identify opportunities for increased profitability, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market trends Manage the comprehensive budgeting and forecasting processes for Optum Specialty Pharmacy and perform month-end analyses to understand monthly performance against the financial plan Managing a complex and matrixed financial structure, with a focus on reimbursement strategies, purchasing dynamics, and supplemental revenue streams in a dynamic environment Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather accurate financial data, analyze market trends, and predict future financial performance to guide business to optimal financial outcomes Function as the central liaison for the broader Finance organization and leadership, managing key business relationships to drive strategic initiatives Utilize strong analytical skills and business acumen to provide strategic insights and communicate effectively with senior-level management

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business 5+ years of finance/accounting or relevant experience Solid financial, analytical, and business acumen with excellent attention to detail Experience in managing projects, meeting deadlines, and achieving business objectives Experience anticipating issues, assessing implications, and implementing appropriate action plans Experience working collaboratively and influencing others within a matrix organization Proven ability to work independently with little supervision, prioritize work, and be a self-starter Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including financial modeling experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA Experience working in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas Hyperion Essbase Healthcare, Technology, and/or Revenue Cycle Management experience Understanding of third-party contracts and concepts Excellent written communication skills and the ability to verbally communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise, and timely manner

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
