This is a hands-on position responsible for the full spectrum of finance matters, including financial reporting, statutory reporting, and management reporting in accordance with US GAAP, FRS, and Group accounting standards. You will also support budgeting and forecasting, liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and authorities, and act as a business partner to the Singapore and regional teams outside of Singapore.Job Description
About the Role:
Manage and support the overall financial reporting and financial closing in compliance with US GAAP, FRS, and Group reporting requirements, and financial analysis for various entities.Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Analyze P&L variances month-over-month, perform Balance Sheet reconciliation, and provide advice on appropriate corrective measures and treatment.Actively support month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely revenue and cost recognition. Review and highlight any variances to the business prior to monthly and annual closing.Review accrued revenue aging, deferred revenue, and costs with the Head of Business for accurate financial reporting in conjunction with the revenue team and FP&A.Enhance internal controls and compliance according to corporate and financial policies.Provide advisory on accounting treatments and operationalization of contracts under new accounting standards. Support business units and delivery teams by providing interpretative guidance on contract/project financial management to determine relevant requirements for contract structures setup and cost/revenue recognition per accounting standards.Provide and implement frameworks, guidelines, and policies in accordance with GAAP/accounting standards, with regular updates to reflect business requirements and SOX compliance.Support and maintain SOX processes throughout the organization, ensuring SOX compliance and taking remediation actions in a timely manner.Prepare year-end statutory financial statements in accordance with Singapore laws and FRS.Review statutory financial statements for SEA entities and clients’ accounts.Liaise with internal and external auditors, risk and compliance teams, and take responsibility for coordinating the audit of annual accounts, ensuring the financial statements are “clean” and represent a true and fair view.Conduct in-house training related to updates on new accounting standards and corporate policies.Review and support the revenue team and business units in revenue recognition documentation, educating stakeholders on revenue recognition guidelines and relevant compliance policies.Act as a business partner to the Singapore and regional teams, providing financial insights and support to drive strategic decision-making.Collaborate with various departments to align financial goals with business objectives and ensure effective financial management across the organization.Drive change management for efficiencies in processes within the Finance organization and lead process improvements and systems enhancements related to project financials.Support the Annual Operating Plan process.Undertake other projects/assignments as assigned.About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance and qualified chartered accountant.Minimum 8+ years of experience in accounting and audit, including experience in a Big 4 firm and a commercial environment.Proficiency and strong understanding of US GAAP and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance is preferred.Advanced proficiency in Excel.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.Knowledge of integrated financial and accounting reporting systems/business enterprise systems eg Workday, Yardi, JD EdwardsExperience in dealing with internal and external financial and regulatory audits.Experience in managing international subsidiaries.Proven ability to effectively and positively interact cross-functionally.Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize to ensure deadlines are met.Highly adaptable and resilient, thriving on changes and challenges.Strong analytical skills.Hands-on and a can-do attitude.Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to contribute in meetings and be well-versed in business processes and issues.Why join Cushman & Wakefield?
