ATS Company: PA Solutions Requisition ID: 14295 Location: Greenville, SC, US, 29615 Date: Feb 10, 2025 Finance Manager Job Description MAJOR DUTIES: Responsible for all financial reporting and budgeting processes for the division, that includes both US and Canadian based entities. Provide financial and analytical support for the operations and sales activities within the division. The Finance Manager is responsible for the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with government regulations and Bill 198/Sarbanes-Oxley. Specific Responsibilities: INTERNAL CONTROL, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES + Plan, organize, direct and control, through subordinates, the financial reporting, accounting and general financial affairs of the division. + Maintenance of the accounting records in a timely, accurate and complete manner. + Develop and train Financial Staff to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to in a consistent manner within the division, and that the financial reporting standards are applied consistently. Regularly review policies and procedures with other Divisional Controllers and senior financial staff, to develop an ATS best practice approach for the financial management of the company. + Review and assess areas of business risk within the division, and, working with the Operation Directors, Finance, develop policies to minimize or eliminate that risk where possible. + Maintenance of the internal controls memorandum, a document outlining the operational controls in place at the division. FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ACCOUNTING + Review divisional operational results. Interpret and communicate financial results through the use of the standard financial reporting package, as distributed by the Corporate Finance department, in accordance with the schedule provided. Ensure that divisional financial results are explained completely and accurately, with variances explained and areas of risk identified. + Responsible for ensuring that the Division financial reporting is in accordance with US, Puerto Rico and Canadian GAAP. + Responsible for preparing audit working papers on a quarterly basis, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled. + Develop and/or prepare specific financial analysis as assigned by the Business Controller, Corporate Finance, or Operational Directors for the effective management of the division and interpretation of results. + Coordinate the filing of all necessary government reports and returns. + Liaison with professional advisors on legal, audit and accounting matters as required. + Coordinate the preparation of year-end audit files. Additional Information OPERATIONAL SUPPORT + Works closely with the Operational Directors in charge of operations. + Prepare divisional annual budgets, forecasts and long term plans as required. Identify areas of risk within business plans. Prepare an Executive summary of the business plan for the division for the Executive Team. Work with Executive Team to develop strategic plans for the division. + Responsible to oversee the production and distribution of weekly and monthly operational reports. + Work with Vice President, Finance, other Divisional Controllers and GMs to identify corporate-wide cost savings opportunities, and opportunities for efficiency gains in day-to-day operational activities. + Work with the Vice President, Finance to develop and implement a performance measurement system for the division. + With assistance from the Director, IT and Vice President, Finance, ensure that the management information systems at the division adequately meet the business needs in terms of transactional processing and financial reporting. + Perform tasks assigned by members of the Executive Committee and Corporate Finance in accordance with specified schedule. + Coordinate and complete any income tax return audits working with external auditor related to Puerto Rico, USA, and Canada. + Negotiate with customers and vendors on contracts as required and assist other employees with same. + Participate as an active member of divisional committees as required. HUMAN RESOURCES + Develop and manage a plan for ensuring that the financial reporting requirements and internal control requirements are met at the division by having appropriate staff. + Develop and train personnel, not only to satisfy reporting and control requirements, but also to ensure proper succession planning. + Work with financial staff to set objectives and monitor performance throughout the year through the use of scorecards and performance appraisals. Education: + A university degree specializing in accounting, finance or equivalent. + A professional financial designation such as CPA or CMA is highly desired. Experience: + A minimum of ten (10) years experience in a professional services/project, financial and cost accounting environment, preferably in international financial markets. + Knowledge and demonstrated experience with long term contract accounting is required. + Individual must have an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written form. + Experience with PC-based accounting systems and software tools are required. + Experience with JDE version 9.2 ERP system and Services module will be considered favorably. + In addition, an ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance in a team-oriented work environment is mandatory. + Working knowledge and experience with Hyperion or One Stream financial reporting systems helpful. + Use of Blackline for account reconciliations helpful. + Strong analytical, financial and accounting skills as well as an ability to significantly contribute to the management of the division as a business partner are keys. + Finally, person must be hands-on and must be able to meet deadlines.
