Job Description
Working with minimum supervision, the Finance Manager will be responsible for the development of new financial systems, as well as the maintenance, monitoring, and enhancement of existing systems. The role involves evaluating the adequacy and implementing improvements to those systems in accordance with FASB, IASB, IRS, and SEC regulations pertaining to General Accounting and Cost Accounting for Manufacturing Operations. The Finance Manager will manage cost accounting and related financial analysis staff, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis for all US and non-US manufacturing operations activities.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop new financial systems and enhance existing systems.Evaluate and implement improvements to financial systems in accordance with regulatory requirements.Input complex accounting or financial transactions and manage cost accounting and related financial analysis staff.Oversee financial reporting for manufacturing operating units, planning, strategic direction setting, and cross-functional support of the manufacturing operations area.Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis of manufacturing operations activities.Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the cost accounting function and implement improvements.Direct the development of manufacturing-related financial systems to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and policies.Interpret external requirements and practices to determine their applicability to the business.Produce standard costs and communicate manufacturing variance analysis to management.Develop forward-looking product costing estimates for new business analysis and annual planning.Implement and manage transfer prices between factories in accordance with transfer pricing agreements.Direct the implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.Evaluate existing processes and procedures, identify weaknesses, and implement improvements.Manage cost accounting staff and financial analyst activities supporting operations areas such as RA/QA, Facilities, Lab Services, Model Shop, and IT.Ensure accounting and reporting processes follow policies in all non-US plants.Maintain consistent and integrated cost accounting and financial reporting processes between plants.Work closely with financial leadership to highlight and understand operational issues.Integrate the Cost Accounting function with general accounting activities.Develop, maintain, and monitor manufacturing financial transactions and internal controls.Prepare special financial/statistical reports and analysis of a highly complex nature.Represent the department or company with internal and external customers to resolve non-routine problems.Essential SkillsCost accountingGAAPFinancial analysisFinancial reportingInventory management10+ years of experience in accounting/financeBachelor's degree2-3+ years of cost accounting experienceExperience in the medical device or manufacturing industrySEC reporting experienceStrong understanding of general accounting and its impact on manufacturing operationsPrevious management experience in cost accountingAdditional Skills & QualificationsPro-active and self-motivatedProblem solver with experience in cost-saving initiativesEnergeticWork Environment
This is an onsite role in Littleton, with some flexibility to work 1-2 days remotely down the line. The person will have one direct report (Sr. Financial Analyst) who is also based in Littleton and needs development as they are new to the role. The company offers a 15% bonus opportunity, PTO accrual, good health benefits, a 401k plan, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
