Finance Manager
Finance Manager - Reinsurance Are you a qualified Finance professional with experience in Treaty Reinsurance? Managed a team? Read on! Aon Re Solutions Africa is recruiting a Finance Manager based on a hybrid basis in our Head Office in Sandton. The role of the finance manager is to lead and manage the finance/treasury team, ensuring end to end (from sales input to financial reporting including IFRS and US GAAP) Financial administration and controls in reinsurance. What the day will look like Leading and managing of staff. Responsible for day-to-day management of functions within Finance. Responsible for finance processes and internal control review, maintenance, and improvement. Ensures compliance / regulatory requirements are adhered to. Management of General ledger control and reconciliations. Responsible for Aon ReSol Treasury management. Shared responsibility for Internal and Statutory reporting. Ongoing and special projects in various capacities. Identify and implement efficiencies across the finance function Review transactions and ensure timeous and accurate processing by relevant party. Provide authorisations on transactions where necessary. Prepare & develop management information extracted from systems to help monitor performance of the business & individuals. Handle external and internal audits, review and implement suggestions. Lead Forex conversion processes. Financial planning & analysis tasks including budgeting, forecasting & actual reporting and providing commentary on variances. Agree budgets with stakeholders and management or make necessary adjustments for agreement. Ensure processes are in place to monitor and meet budget requirements. Report to third parties and Aon timeously and accurately and fulfilling analysis and reporting requirements. Ensure compliance to regulatory & statutory requirements (Tax, FSCA, BBBEE status etc). Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders & influence to achieve business objectives & strategy. Identify need to up-skill and guide stakeholders around functioning of finance processes. Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives. Maintains personal and professional development. Skills and experience that will lead to success Qualifications. + A degree in accounting or financial management. + Qualified accountant CA(SA), CGMA, ACCA, etc. (preferable) Knowledge. + Knowledge of fiduciary and nonfiduciary accounting. + Excellent technical accounting know-how, e.g. GAAP. + Knowledge of relevant systems, e.g. RBS, GRiDS. + Solid experience in forex. + Knowledge of the workflow in a reinsurance brokerage. + Expert knowledge of Facultative and Treaty Accounts and Administration. Skills and Attributes. + Well-developed analytical technical and problem-solving skills. + Well-developed communication skills. + Well-developed influencing and negotiation skills. + Well-developed interpersonal skills. + Proven ability to work with and in teams. + Computer literacy with advanced experience in MS Word and Excel. + Well-developed business and financial skills and acumen. Experience. + Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in financial management, preferably in the financial services environment.
