The MCAPS Business Planning, Strategy & Investments (BPSI) team is seeking a **Finance Manager** to manage the fiscal year blueprint planning process, developing insights around productivity measurement and analytics driving headcount resource optimization in line with company strategy. You will work in a collaborative, dynamic, and fun environment to help drive strategy across all segments and solution areas, and provide monthly updates on productivity of resources. The role requires a degree of agility and skill in navigating multiple stakeholder requirements while enabling accelerated growth aspirations for the business in a competitive market environment. To be successful, the individual needs to be collaborative, self-motivated and be curious in learning the sales motion performance drivers and products. He/she also needs to have the ability to deliver strategy concisely and consistently, with compelling business acumen. **Responsibilities** **Plan** + Commercial Headcount Planning: Lead and own the headcount (HC) planning process, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to drive efficiency and alignment across global sales teams. + Business Health Assessment: Manage the monthly business health rhythm, providing key insights and data-driven recommendations to leadership on resource productivity. + Resource Allocation & Optimization: Develop insightful analytics to guide resource distribution across customer segments and sales teams, ensuring alignment with revenue aspirations across all solution areas. + Framework Development: Establish and implement frameworks that help the business pivot effectively to meet strategic goals in a dynamic market environment. + Cross-Segment Collaboration: Partner with Enterprise,Small Medium Corporate (SMC), and Small Medium Businesses (SMB) segment finance teams to ensure seamless alignment on blueprint design, resource allocation, and impact measurement. **Prioritize** + Determines operating revenue and expenses compared to expected budget and projections; identifies variances to provide insights to management and inform future projections and resource management. Contributes to the analysis of present and future financial performance of various products, segments, or other businesses. Assists team members to conduct analysis and research studies of financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities, revenue, operational metrics, productivity metrics), acquisition activity, and future opportunities. + Assists in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process. Gathers insight and contributes to analysis and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. + Provides support to peers and counterparts during financial close periods. Prepares recurring financial reporting, forecasts, and presentations. Makes updates as necessary through the reporting cycles. Determines financial results (e.g., revenue, Cost Of Goods Sold (COGS), Operational Excellence (OPEX) compared to expected budget and projections. + Assembles and summarizes data through data mining and business intelligence to structure reports and financial models for decision support. Leverages statistical analyses, predictive analytics, and financial modeling techniques to conduct sophisticated analyses. **Partnership** + Supports business decision making for partners for partners for all expense, and compliance questions related to reporting and analysis. Contributes insights for financial plans, variance analysis, resource optimization, investments, key performance indicators (KPIs), long-range planning, and driving margin accountability in order to provide partners with data-driven insights to make business decisions. Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. + Learns and applies the foundational aspects of Microsoft Finance (e.g., financial systems, policies and procedures, key metrics, historical performance, reporting, and forecast requirements) and business (e.g., market, key drivers of profitability) to collect information, perform technical analysis and modeling, and complete standardized reporting. Understands strategies to proactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks. + Improves current methods used in collecting data, developing automated financial reporting and forecasting tools, and creating standard and ad-hoc reports. Learns how advanced technology is leveraged in Finance and across Microsoft to provide greater depth of analysis. + Communicates recurring and ad-hoc results in a logical and understandable message through storytelling. + Collects customer and partner feedback data and assists with data analysis to improve experience. Begins to gain exposure and build relationships with internal and external business partners. **Protect** + Ensures compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring the accuracy of financial documents and business processes. Drives corrective measures. Supports questions regarding documentation, policy adherence, and requirements. Recommends approved instruments and processes. Understands and adheres to financial compliance standards, Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. + Reviews financial and budgetary reports to ensure accuracy and support of internal controls. Monitors accuracy of financial documents and execution of control processes; performs corrective measures. + Ensures documentation and reporting is accessible for internal and external auditors (e.g., local governments). Facilitates dialogue between business stakeholders and internal audit team (shift partner organizations). Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.
