Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager in DETROIT, Michigan. This role is vital within our team, focusing on the organization and management of financial matters, non-operating billing processes, and intergovernmental agreements. The Finance Manager will also serve as a liaison between various internal teams and maintain strong relationships with financial and operational teams within our member partners and other intergovernmental agencies.
Responsibilities:
• Organize and manage non-routine scenarios and craft a work plan and communication strategy related to financial matters
• Oversee non-operating billing processes, activities, and associated agreements
• Establish and maintain standards for billing processes supporting miscellaneous invoicing, including interlocal agreements, legal settlements, and leased property agreements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with financial and operational teams within our member partners and other intergovernmental agencies
• Address concerns and issues that may arise related to intergovernmental billing matters
• Oversee the collections process related to intergovernmental billing processes and maintain a strong system of internal control
• Coordinate financial services activities and reporting with various teams
• Function as the accounting lead for miscellaneous revenue, receivable, and related cash receipt entries, workpapers, and reporting
• Support related financial system processes and controls
• Monitor and maintain documented policies and procedures to support team processes
• Engage in general management activities and responsibilities related to training and leadership. Requirements • Proven expertise in Full Cycle Accounting, with the ability to manage all aspects of financial reporting and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in Fund Accounting, with the capacity to handle fund allocation and financial transactions.
• Proficiency in conducting Audit operations, with a focus on identifying discrepancies and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Solid experience in preparing and reviewing Audited Financial Statements, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial data.
• Knowledge of Government Grants, including application processes, management, and reporting.
