**DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a talented Controller – Operations Finance Manager to join our team specializing in Finance for Cummins Inc. in Florence, KY.
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:**
1. **Strategic Leadership** : By participating in the leadership team, you’ll drive key business metrics and contribute to the development of business strategies, ensuring financial support for new business initiatives.
2. **Accounting Excellence** : You’ll manage and apply consistent accounting practices, working with business partners to implement recommended changes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
3. **Financial Reporting** : Leading the monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes, you’ll communicate financial insights across the entity and present detailed financial analysis to business partners.
4. **Operational Planning** : Managing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forecast processes, you’ll provide leadership to meet cost and working capital targets, ensuring financial stability.
5. **Efficiency Improvements** : Collaborating with business partners, you’ll enhance process efficiency and cost-effectiveness, driving profitability and operational efficiencies through continuous improvements and growth initiatives.
6. **Regulatory Compliance** : You’ll manage financial support to comply with governmental, regulatory, and local requirements, including tax and statutory accounting, ensuring the entity meets all legal obligations.
7. **Capital Management** : Leading financial analysis on capital projects, you’ll oversee the capital management process at the entity level, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
8. **Resource Allocation** : By allocating financial resources to support business initiatives, you’ll manage accounts receivable collections, inventory, and payables, contributing to the overall financial health of the entity.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:**
1. **Strong Business Partnering Skills** : Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, develop partnerships, and influence decision-making by demonstrating a deep understanding of the business. This will help drive performance aligned with organizational goals and strategies, while mitigating risks and capitalizing on opportunities.
2. **Expert Financial Analysis** : Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, opportunities, and risks. Provide insights to stakeholders regarding the financial impact to drive business improvement. Ensure the integrity of financial data by investigating variances and implementing corrective actions.
3. **Proficient Financial Planning and Forecasting** : Utilize financial forecast data to provide forward-looking projections that facilitate decision-making. Partner with stakeholders to analyze trends and validate assumptions, ensuring forecasts align with the organization’s goals and strategies.
4. **Comprehensive Financial Regulations Acumen** : Evaluate and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, such as tax, banking, pension, and local accounting. Educate stakeholders on key regulatory requirements and their implications for the business.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education, Licenses, Certifications:**
+ College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
+ Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification required.
**Experience:**
+ Significant experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience in a small operations manufacturing or distribution center environment.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
+ Ownership over all things related to product cost including updates, maintenance, and process improvement. This includes the yearly standard cost process and quarterly simulated cost that adjusts for new information impacting the cost of products. Will require frequent interaction with other business partners to ensure appropriate and accurate information is used.
+ Provide information and analysis that outlines business and operational performance, gives insights that can be actioned on, and drives positive performance of the Aftermarket business.
+ Month-end close processes including journal entries, variance analysis and explanation, account reconciliations, etc. Maintain SOX controls and drive improvements to business control environment.
**Additional Skills, Education, and Experience:**
+ Significant experience with standard cost and the processes used to update and maintain them (required).
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (required)
+ Advanced Microsoft Access Skills (preferred)
+ AS400 Experience (preferred)
