Job Description
Working independently, this position is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial and operational reporting for the Europe Region to the Europe Region President and Management Team. Engages directly with subsidiary management to assure accounting, reporting and controls are maintained in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. The position manages tight timelines and a broad range of reporting, forecasting, and analytical activities. Conducts detailed analysis and provides insightful reporting on various KPIs that help Region Management, GMs and Market Leadership improve Sales, EBITDA and Free Cash Flow growth. Support ongoing implementation and utilization of Global ERP, Reporting and Forecasting systems throughout the region. Strong judgement, expertise and communication skills required to analyze, interpret and present complex data and business recommendations to Europe Region Management at all levels. Serve as business partner advising on finance topics for subsidiary leadership, Region Team and corporate partners. Advocates on behalf of Europe Region interests when interfacing with corporate partners.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the collection and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for the Europe region. Ensure complete and timely reporting of financial data. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policy. Prepare internal management reporting and analysis for executive and region leadership. Lead the Rolling Forecast process for the region. Provide forecasting templates, tools and guidance. Prepare Europe Region forecast reporting and analysis and track progress toward regional goals and objectives. Provide support for the implementation and ongoing utilization of Global ERP systems (JD Edwards), and reporting systems (HFM and Hyperion) throughout the European region. In addition to work with core systems focus on systems and utilization that improves efficiency and accuracy. Support Europe Region Finance Leaders providing training and guidance as required. Support subsidiary GMs/Country Leaders when vacancies occur in the local Finance Manager/Leader role due to terminations, absences or employee transitions. Conduct detailed analysis and create new insightful reporting on various KPIs that help the Europe Region Management team, Market GMs and subsidiary leadership teams improve Sales, EBITDA and Free Cash Flow growth throughout the Europe Region Advise subsidiaries preparing for Internal and External Audits and take leadership role in evaluating audit recommendations to ensure implementation of solutions that align with company policies, procedures and strategic direction. Lead the CEA Process for the Europe Region. Assure compliance with defined company policies and procedures. Submissions must include sound business justification, ROI, and other analysis as required. Partner with the International Tax department and subsidiary Finance Managers to assure timely and accurate filing of statutory accounts and tax filings. This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
Skills & Experience
Experience: 7+ years
Education: Bachelor/University Degree in Finance or Accounting or a related field. CPA preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
Must have a high degree of competency in report development, analytical system functionality, and system controls in order to effectively participate in system implementations, upgrades, enhance analytical reporting capabilities, establish accounting internal controls, review financial reports and develop accounting system requirements. Self-Starter with ability to take projects from initial idea to final delivery. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as customer services skills to work with employees and management of other departments within the company, auditors, and employees located at the international subsidiaries. Must be culturally sensitive. Must be comfortable with regularly completing conference calls with international contacts while being sensitive to time differences and language skills. Must have strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills to be able to work independently, resolve problems, and coordinate resolutions with other departments and international subsidiaries. Must be self-motivated and able to independently manage projects against internal and external deadlines. Ability to lead non-centralized teams of finance professionals to achieve company and region goals and deadlines. This individual must be highly respected by subordinates, peers and superiors. Highly proficient in Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint to maintain electronic financial information, perform financial analysis, and prepare financial reporting presentations for management. A working knowledge of Hyperion is preferred. Must be able to exercise independent judgment on how to proceed with assigned projects. Incumbent must rely on experience, knowledge, and use good judgment in determining how to independently accomplish financial projects. Must be able to work under strict deadlines with high level of accuracy, follow procedures, and handle several projects at the same time. International overnight travel required up to 35% of work time.
