What You'll Do
Join us as we embark on a journey to transform BCG’s Finance organization. “Future Finance” is a multi-year journey to prepare the Finance function for the BCG of the future: a BCG that continues to grow, and one that has become more complex, more diverse and more interdependent. By rethinking structures and standardizing processes across geographies and business entities, we will make it simpler and more efficient to work together and flex to meet the needs of BCG.
As a part of the Global Finance Operations Services team, you will support and deliver on day-to-day activities in the Record-to-Report (RTR) function including finance & accounting management process of collecting, processing, consolidating, closing and reporting on relevant, timely and accurate information used to provide financial, strategic and operational feedback which aids in decision making process. You should have experience in financial accounting and reporting, revenue accounting. fixed assets and lease accounting, intercompany accounting, accrual/prepaid accounting and reconciliations, month end/year end close, accounting systems and procedures, consolidation of financials, audit controls and governance etc. Your key stakeholders will include various internal BCG functions and the local finance teams located in multiple geographies.
Roles and responsibilities
Understand basic accounting concepts, financial systems, and data flow processes.Handle monthly accounting tasks like recording revenue, expenses, and journal entries.Review and reconcile financial statements, focusing on consolidations, accruals, and variance analysis.Ensure all balance sheet and expense accounts are properly reconciled and maintained.Learn key accounting processes to support the team when needed.Use reports to gather data and resolve financial issues.Work with IT and finance teams to solve system-related problems during month-end processes.Maintain strong internal controls by keeping proper backups and following company policies.Collaborate with Finance Managers to review and improve accounting processes.Help create and document accounting procedures for smooth month-end and year-end closings.Solve practical problems when procedures are unclear and help formalize new ones.Report any issues or deviations from procedures and seek guidance to solve them.Manage tasks related to compliance and planning independently.Take on ad hoc tasks and duties with minimal supervision.Participate in company-wide projects and initiatives.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with experience and strong interest in accounting concepts.6-8 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting, fixed assets and lease accounting, accrual/prepaid accounting and reconciliations, month end/year end close, accounting systems and procedures, consolidation of financials, audit controls and governance etc.Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment and to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly to enhance the business and in keeping with BCG’s values and culture.Willingness to provide a wide range of financial services from routine tasks to intricate financial management dataOracle experience a plus (GL, Fixed Assets and AP), Hyperion, SAP Business Objects, MS Access and other comparable ERP systems experience preferredMS Excel, PowerPoint, Word proficiency and adaptable to different software applicationsAdvanced Excel skills and/or experience with other analytical tools (such as Tableau, Alteryx, etc.) will be added advantageWho You'll Work With
