Finance Transformation Lead (Books and Records, Reporting), Managing Director
The Finance Transformation Group, in conjunction with the Function execution teams, is responsible for the successful delivery of complex regulatory and cross-business transformational Initiative(s) as part of Citi’s Transformation. This role reports to the Global Head of Finance transformation and will partner closely with the Finance functions to proactively help set the strategy and drive the delivery of the action plan work efforts. The Finance Transformation Office Lead will oversee various multiple Program Directors in the delivery of key elements of the Finance Program Group transformation commitments. This role requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of systems and practices relevant to a complex Finance function for a GSIB as well as practical experience in regulatory reporting, technology and data management. In-depth knowledge of GSIB products/services is necessary to contribute to setting the strategic direction. This position will report into the Head of Finance Transformation and will be responsible for driving facilitating and driving transformation outcome with execution partners in Finance, Risk and Technology. Excellent communication skills are required in order to influence the wide range of audiences. This is a highly strategic role that requires strong leadership skills with the ability to build high performing teams, effective regulatory and C-level interaction. A proven track record in delivering large, complex bodies of work is required as the Books Y Records and Reporting Transformation Head will develop medium-to-long-term plans and execute functional strategies, requiring coordination and integration across businesses, functions and geographies. **Responsibilities:** · Facilitates and guides strategic Finance transformation execution in a fast paced environment, to tight timelines. · Supplements the Program Execution with surge capacity for the implementation of strategic data solutions, common processes and integrated technology platforms, when needed. · Facilitates and guides the review and re-planning efforts and recommends objectives, policies, and plans to get work back on track · Identifies opportunities to scale efficiencies and identify new ways of working. · Escalates early when expectations are not being met or support is required and has authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact to the function. · Ensures risk reduction across Transformation by ensuring work is appropriately resourced, thoughtfully planned, focused on outcomes and has clear ownership · Frequently involved in a wide range of diverse activities that require strategic vision and analysis. The job is typically required to think beyond the existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge of sophisticated areas that ultimately affect the business/geographic region or a major segment of it. · C-Level executive communication and effective regulatory interaction · Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. **Qualifications:** · 20+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry required. · Large firm Management consulting experience preferred. · History of leading large complex cross-functional program at a Global Bank · Experience in a financial services Finance (Controllers/General Ledger) function with broad understanding of financial reporting and accounting. · Knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements · Strong knowledge of the risk management lifecycle and control frameworks · Knowledge and expertise in Program Management, including Project Management and/or management reporting and analysis.
