Financial Accountant
Description We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, performing income statement analysis, and assisting with financial statement preparation. This role is critical to our operations and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare journal entries in a timely manner using financial ERP systems. • Conduct accurate and timely reconciliation of assigned monthly general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and company policies. • Perform monthly income statement analysis for assigned operating entities. • Assist in the preparation of financial statements. • Conduct light accounting research and understand technical accounting issues as needed. • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams for changes to applicable contracts and assets. • Contribute to the development of procedures to improve workflow efficiency and maintain internal controls. • Respond to external vendor and auditor inquiries. • Participate in ad hoc/special projects as assigned by management. • Utilize Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Crystal Reports, Epicor, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Auditing, Budget Processes, Cash Activity to perform tasks efficiently. Requirements • Possession of a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Financial Accountant role or similar • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is desirable • Familiarity with Crystal Reports and Epicor software tools • Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems • Ability to perform Accounting Functions efficiently and accurately • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) • Proven skills in Auditing tasks and procedures • Experience in managing Budget Processes • Ability to monitor and manage Cash Activity • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Adherence to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion • Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge to keep up with changes in the financial industry.
