My client has a unique opportunity available for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and reputable cold storage operator that provides management solutions. You will be someone with a strong personality, be tech savvy and have a knack for working in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines. Your attention to details is vital when seeing to the accounting principles, procedures and financial operations.

Responsibilities:

Ensure accurate processing of expenses to correct General Ledger accounts and departments Create new ledger accounts in the General Ledger Prepare journal entries Perform intercompany reconciliations Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register Preparing fixed asset purchase approval documents Oversee the full creditor’s function Issuing of purchase orders for approved orders Update monthly electricity schedules Daily capturing of bank transactions Ensure that general ledger accounts are kept up to date Prepare bank, petty cash and inventory reconciliations Perform VAT reconciliations Prepare and submit the VAT201 Monthly analysis of fleet cards and allocation of fuel cost Assist with the preparation of supporting documents for relevant SARS audits Assist with audit file preparation for both internal and external auditors

Requirements:

Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles BCom Accounting/ Finance degree Minimum of 2-3years’experience in an accounting role within a medium sized organisation Microsoft Dynamics Nav experience (advantage) Experience in MS Office and MS Excel Intermediary to Advanced level
