Our client, a well-established prominent brand, is seeking to employ an experienced Financial Accountant, CA(SA) to join their team.   

This is a Middle Management Level position, based in Coega, Port Elizabeth.

BCom Accounting + Honours + CA secures this role.


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To ensure compliance of the organisation's accounting records with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and to provide timeous and useful reporting information for decision making purposes.                       

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BCom Accounting + Honours + CA. At least 2 years' experience post articles.  Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage people.  COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE POSITION:

Maintain policy and procedures:
Draft financial policies and procedures when and where required. Train staff to work according to the policies and procedures. Ensure that all financial actions adhere to the corporate governance and compliance framework.                    Maintain and control business systems:
Ensure integrity of all system data input. Ensure compliance to accounting standards (IFRS). Ensure proper handling of source documentation. Timeous processing of all transactions. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, e.g. E-filing, VAT, Employees tax, CIPC, etc. Liaise with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure correct posting within the ERP system. Calculate and prepare schedules for accruals/provisions/complex accounting transactions for review by FM.  Completion of financial and management reports:
Ensure accurate and timeous financial reporting. Ensure that financials are reported on due dates, correct and accurate to all relevant Managers as required. Complete year end schedules for company auditors. Liaise and assist auditors with any requests for information.     Assist with drafting of company and group annual financial statements. Report any undue actions that may occur in a department. Ensure that all sub-ledgers reconcile with main accounts.  Budget processes:
Provide managers with useful info to assist them in budget process. Ensure that the intended and final budget is uploaded into the company's required system. Manage staff:
Conduct performance management of team members. Manage discipline of team (execute company disciplinary procedures). Training of Finance team as and when required.  Ad-hoc:
Support the financial manager with any ad-hoc reports/analysis as requested .
