Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Finance, the Financial Accountant II reconciles multiple general ledger accounts and state bank accounts on a routine basis. Reviews controls and quality measures of the payment and budget process. Position is in-office and located on the main Tarleton campus in Stephenville, Texas with work hours Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM or as work requirements indicate, which includes the ability to work after 5:00 p.m. and weekends occasionally.
Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.
Responsibilities:
50% Serves as the contact person for grants. Implements procedures to ensure proper reporting of grants.
30% Reviews daily cash flow and prepares accounting entries for processing in the accounting systems. Classifies, codes, posts, and balances financial and accounting documents and records.
10% Serves as the contact person for state funding issues. Implements procedures to ensure proper reporting related to State funding. Serves as contact for real property transactions and construction project accounting.
5% Assists with the preparation of the Annual Financial Report and internal and external audits Performs complex accounting work to include recording, examining, and analyzing of financial records, documents, or reports. Audits accounting and financial documents for accuracy and completeness.
5% Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Oral and written communication skills.
Customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Commensurate with experience
Salary Range
The target base annual salary range is $49,000 to $61,940.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
