Job Summary
The Financial Aid Assistant III, under general supervision, performs complex administrative financial aid duties in the support of one or more professional staff members. Audits records to assure quality standards. Helps train, advise, and college work study personnel. Assists with interviews of student financial aid applicants and provides a broad range of activities that support student success and financial literacy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Develops and implements strategies to support and foster financial literacy to students through proactive outreach on- and off-campus events.
+ Works with faculty, Student Success, Enrollment Management, and other relevant stakeholders to identify populations who are at risk of not meeting financial aid satisfactory academic progress (SAP) to provide financial literacy and support to improve student retention.
+ Provides financial aid information and appropriate forms to students, parents, staff, and faculty.
+ Responds to inquiries regarding Federal Financial Aid forms, records, procedures, and policies.
+ Answers phones and assists with call campaigns.
+ Assist with the review , tracking , and processing of documents.
+ May post, evaluate or analyze a wide variety of financial aid related records of an official and confidential nature
+ May supervise one or more full-time or wage staff and assist with payroll and timesheets.
+ Composes and prepares correspondence on a wide variety of financial aid matters
+ Assists with outreach activities, such as FAFSA and Scholarship Workshops, recruitment events, trainings, and default prevention/financial literacy.

Minimum RequirementsEducation-High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience-Seven years of related experience.Knowledge of-Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs. Knowledge of Financial Aid principlesAbility to-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Customer service and organization skills.
