The Office of Financial Aid helps students obtain financial resources to support their studies at CUNY SPS and administers aid funds in order to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate financial need.
Reporting to the Financial Aid Specialist, the duties of the Financial Aid Coordinator in addition to the CUNY Title Overview, will be to:
+ Assistwithsupportingthefinancialaidprogramsandoperations.
+ Assistwithreviewingcontracts,disbursements,tuitionandfees,andvalidatingstudenteligibility for TAP, PELL, and Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans.
+ AssistwiththeTAPcertificationprocessinordertoensuretheaccuratedeliveryoffunds;and, with reviewing and reconciling student payroll processing.
+ Workwithacademicdepartmentsandadministrativedepartmentstomaintainaccurateandup- to-date financial aid processes; and,assist with preparation of documentation and reports to support financial aid activities.
+ RepresentCUNYSPSatCUNYFinancialAidmeetings;and,scheduleworkshops,reviewsapplications, reviews pay cycles and records awards, disbursements and returns.
+ Coordinate,verify,andresolveproblemsregardingthedisbursementofscholarshipsandgrants by verifying student eligibility, establishing pay cycles and reviewing pay-outs.
+ Reconcileaccountinganddisbursementschedulesandprovidedataforfinancialaidanddonor reports, as needed.
+ SupporttheCollege’senrollmentmanagementeffortsbyprovidingfinancialaidinformationto prospective students and partner organizations.
+ Serve as a liaison between the college and direct loan providers.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Atleasttwoyearsofexperienceworkinginahighereducationfinancialaidsetting.
+ Knowledgeoftheapplicationofalltypesoffinancialaidwhenmanagingshortsessionswithinasemester.
+ Knowledgeoffederal,state,andinstitutionalfinancialaidprograms.
+ AnunderstandingofTitleIVregulations.
+ ExperienceinworkingwithalltypesofNewYork Stateaidprograms.
+ Abilitytoanalyzedetailedfinancialdocumentsandfinancialaidapplicationstodeterminestudent eligibility for federal aid.
+ Ability to advise students on good academic standing requirements and the appeal process; review appeals for dependency overrides; and review New York State TAP roster with guidance by the TAP certifying officer.
+ WorkingknowledgeofCUNYFirst.
+ Experience in Access and Excel.

**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Coordinates financial aid procedures and activities and provides financial aid information.
- Schedules workshops, reviews applications, establishes pay cycles, disburses funds and resolves disbursement problems, and records awards, disbursements and returns
- Coordinates, verifies and resolves problems regarding the disbursement of scholarships and grants by verifying student eligibility, establishing pay cycles and reviewing pay-outs
- Reconciles accounting and disbursement schedules
- Provides data for financial aid and donor reports as needed
- Supports the College's enrollment management efforts by providing financial aid information to prospective students, their families and their high school counselors
- Serves as liaison between the college and direct loan providers
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
Salary commensurate with education and experience between $57,517 - $62,689.
