Work Hours/Shift: FT / Day (Mon thru Thurs: 8a.m. to 4:30p.m. & Fri: 8a.m. to 3p.m.)

The role you’ll contribute:

The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for counseling students and parents regarding all financial aid

programs. Also, is responsible for awarding, monitoring, and inputting financial aid. Works with students to

assist them in completing all paperwork required for financial aid. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

You Will Be Responsible For:

Demonstrates behaviors at AdventHealth University in harmony with AHU’s “Four Words” of Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality , and Stewardship as well as AdventHealth’s Performance Standards of “Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make it Easy, and Own It.”

Assist students with application procedures, student status changes, withdrawals and re-entries.

Maintain familiarity with all applicable financial aid regulations and procedures.

Basic counseling to students and parents regarding financial aid process, financial aid programs, policies and procedures.

Complete student verification files in accordance with federal and institutional student aid guidelines.

Award financial aid to qualified applicants.

Maintain financial aid files ensuring all required forms are in the file.

Assist students with financial aid concerns.

Assist the Financial Aid Director and Assistant Director as needed with other job-related tasks.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Required:

Excellent customer service skills

Basic math computation

Self-starter requiring little supervision or direction.

Basic keyboarding skills

If attending AHU, must currently not be in default on student loans

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Psychology or other higher education degree

Knowledge of PowerFAIDS and Sonis Software Programs

2 years’ experience working in Financial Aid

Experience in Excel
