Responsibilities:
Accountable for managing and resolving an assigned group of patient accounts receivables in accordance with established procedures and guidelines for persons who are uninsured or under-insured and do not have adequate financial resources to pay for health care services rendered by CMC hospitals/clinics. This position is critical to CMC?s successful adherence to State regulated charity volumes guidelines and participation requirements. Responsible for qualifying guarantors/patients for charity and identifying alternate pay sources for our patients by working with physicians, physician offices, ED staff, patient, guarantors, state and local government agencies, credit reporting sites and other debt offices to assist the patient qualify for charity services.
Qualifications:Education
Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration requiredBachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferredHigh School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate and 5 years of experience in a financial counselor position in a multi-hospital business office may be substituted for Associate's Degree and experience requirement
Experience
