Job OverviewKomatsu is looking for a Financial Analyst, Hard Rock to join their organization in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a key position supporting the global hard rock organization to establish and monitor ongoing business results. The position is a growth role with opportunity to learn how a large matrix organization operates while creating your own footprint in the organization through continuously improved financial information for presentation to the leaders of the business.
Key Job Responsibilities Perform tasks in support of the monthly closing process, including development and report-out of KPl's, standard cost variance and margin (price, volume, mix) analysis, and capacity cost reviews. Review balance sheet trends and identify opportunity for ROIC improvement; prepare monthly inventory and capital spending reports, evaluate reserves for lower-of-cost or market and obsolete or slow-moving inventory; participate in monthly S&OP meetings, and provide recommendations to improve working capital metrics. Prepare and analyze consolidated quarterly financial outlooks, the annual budget, and annual mid-term strategic plan and business roadmap. Review monthly financial results providing clear and concise analysis of significant P&L, balance sheet, and bookings and backlog variances against budget and outlook. Prepare detailed sales, bookings, and SVM (Standard Variable Margin) analysis leveraging SAP Bl by region, customer, and product, including OE (Original Equipment) and Aftermarket. Provide financial analysis and support around ad-hoc or special projects, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures or restructuring, sales contract and/or commercial/aftermarket proposals and contracts, IT or corporate projects. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree accounting or finance, or related field; minimum 4-8 years' experience. SAP experience is desirable. Demonstrated experience with financial analysis and consolidation. Experience within a global organization with collaboration through various financial resources. Strong computer skills and ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, phone); Solid problem-solving skills with an attention to detail required. Strong communication skills to be able to summarize complex financial data and present findings through verbal and written communication formats. Ability to manipulate and analyze large and, or complex data sets to distill insights, connect ideas into clear and cohesive recommendations using creative, effective, structured, and analytical thinking. Valid passport with ability to travel to global business destinations on occasion. Ability to work varied hours as required due to time zone differences and financial closure timelines.
