Financial Analyst, Junior

Job Title: Financial Analyst, Junior 

  

Job Summary 

The Financial Analyst, Junior is responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial analysis projects. Expected to analyze accounting and financial records of the company to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.  

 

Responsibility 

Support the monthly consolidated close process by collecting and consolidating reporting from individual Linamar entities. Prepare and document monthly journal entries related to the month-end and consolidated adjustments. Perform validation checks to ensure that data being provided by individual entities is complete and accurate.   Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.   Support internal and external financial reporting through drafting a variety of standard and ad-hoc reports.  Assist with financial statement note disclosures in both the interim and annual reports.

 

Academic/Educational Requirements 

A degree in accounting, business, commerce, or a related discipline is required.   Pursuit or completion of a CPA designation is preferred.   Candidate must have the requisite educational requirements to enroll in the CPA program.

 

 Required Skills/Experience 

One to two years of related financial experience.   Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP reporting principles.   Strong communication skills with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues across departments and across the globe.   A strong attention to detail and the ability to perform and explain detailed analysis to leaders and decision-makers in the company.   Able to identify and implement opportunities for innovation and enhance process efficiency.   Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).   Knowledge of OneStream and IFS systems is a significant asset.
