The Department of UHealth Primary Care Enterprises is currently seeking a full time Financial Analyst 2 to work in Miami. The Financial Analyst 2 (H) compiles and analyzes financial information for Auxiliary Services in an efficient and accurate manner. Moreover, the incumbent assists management in the decision-making process and strategic planning by presenting relevant financial reports in a clear, concise, and timely manner.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                          

Prepares and coordinates documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.

Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings.

Provides analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects.

Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.

Designs and builds various models that summarize several different scenarios around growth and expansion initiatives or opportunities.

Develops and maintains performance and productivity dashboards, models, or analyses.

Collects, interprets and analyzes relevant data or metrics.

Develops and maintains reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans and new services.

Resolves any reporting issues. Liaisons with a variety of vendors that provide services for the University to ensure adherence to the terms and conditions of their respective agreements.

Makes recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.

Supports the Director and Sr. Financial Analyst with accounting and reporting functions.

 Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education:         

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

                                                 

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.

Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.

Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.

Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.

Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

Reconcile One Medical invoices and process monthly payments in accordance with contractual terms. Collaborate with the Central Finance team for booking revenues.

Review and present One Medical’s financial performance on a monthly basis.

Identify trends in member growth and assess their impact on plan assumptions.

Collaborate with the relationship leader to address discrepancies and variances within One Medical’s P&L.

Prepare and present the annual operating budget for primary care practices 13 (GIM/FM/PED) locations including Doral and SoLe Mia GIM + 1 PC Admin.  Walgreens excluded and the One Medical cost center.

Monitor and control operational costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement efficiency improvements.

Participate in strategic planning initiatives, providing financial insights and projections to support growth, development, and potential practice acquisitions.

Develop financial reports for clinic operations analysis and strategic growth feasibility.

Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including department heads (Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, MedPeds, General Pediatrics)

Review and approve purchase orders, work orders, check requisitions, consulting agreements, and documents related to all PC practices.

Assign Costing Allocations for all new and replacement positions, one-time payments, etc.

Perform monthly financial analysis for assigned Divisions/Practices to assure accuracy of all accounts and determine the cause of any significant variances from the budget, report these variances to required stakeholders, and provide suggestions for correcting these variances. 

Prepare Journal Entries and Payroll Accounting adjustments as needed. 

Collaborate with the Central Finance team for the submission of monthly accruals as needed.

Prepare monthly inter-departmental transfers for operating expenses.

Other duties as assigned.

Timely and accurate Departments’ Business Performance Reports to the department Leadership and Central Finance.

No breaches of financial control procedures.

Compliance with current UM Policies, professional standards, corporate governance, and best practice.

Effective operation of budgetary and other control mechanisms to deliver planned performance.
