Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst is a key contributor within the Berkley Life Sciences organization, provides financial and strategic decision support to leadership to ensure the achievement of short- and long-term financial goals. Key functions will include but are not limited to:

Produce accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and records.Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.Provide analytical support for existing and new strategic initiatives.Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.Explain complex financial concepts and results to non-financial stakeholders, fostering understanding and informed decision-making.Produce accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and records.Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.Provide analytical support for existing and new strategic initiatives.Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.Explain complex financial concepts and results to non-financial stakeholders, fostering understanding and informed decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in the insurance industry.Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills. SQL proficiency or interest to learn.Exceptional oral and written communication skills. You have the uncanny ability to explain complex financial ideas clearly and concisely.Calm under pressure. You have excellent organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks. You are comfortable challenging norms while working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization. You have a strong sense of accountability, fun and adventure. You have a proven track record of producing accurate financial reports and statements. A strong customer service bias. You want to get to yes. You are known for your super responsiveness. You can say no and preserve your relationships. Natural curiosity. You love learning how things work and you are always looking for innovative improvements. An analytical mind.  You have a strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.  You love to dive into the details to design and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risk.
