What You Will Do:
 

This position is one member of a 19-person consulting team supporting the United States Transportation Command’s (USTRANSCOM) Program Analysis and Financial Management directorate (TCJ8). This position will be responsible for working with Federal Civil Servants to key client initiatives, process improvement, knowledge management, and in-depth financial studies. This role provides an opportunity to act as a true consultant. It requires a candidate who is a self-starter who is willing to engage with ambiguity and problem solve with creative solutioning. The role works cross-functionally, with TCJ8 leadership, cost estimators, auditors, budget analysts, and external stakeholders in other directorates and co-commands.

Primary Responsibilities:

Client initiatives span from human capital improvements, staffing analysis, resource management, cost studies, and regulatory review.

Process improvement efforts focus on the modernization of processes (leveraging new technology platforms like Microsoft 365 – SharePoint, PowerAutomate, PowerBI, PowerApps) as well process reviews. The development of new process and accompanying creation of documentation and training are key to improving accuracy and efficiency within TCJ8.

Knowledge management focuses on capturing and retaining information about day-to-day activities, including standard operating procedure and historical context. This role leverages SharePoint, other Microsoft Office products, and USTC Knowledge Management software to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance.

Financial studies require the review of regulatory guidance, USTC instructions, and other documents paired with financial analysis to ensure compliance and efficiency within USTC and the broader DOD environment.  

What You Will Need:

US Citizenship and Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET federal security clearance.

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.

THREE (3) Years experience in Consulting, Finance/Financial Mgt or Knowledge Mgt or Education/Teaching

Demonstrated expertise in the use of Microsoft Office programs (SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, One Note, etc.)


What Would Be Nice To Have:

Relevant certifications and training in financial management and budget analysis, such as Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level I or above, and/or Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)

ertifications in Project Management, Lean Six Sigma and related process improvement

Experience in Federal Government budget processes and strategies

Experience using PowerApps, PowerAutomate, or PowerBI
