How will you make an impact in this role?

The Financial Analyst will support Market Controller and Manager in complying with internal and external financial controls / governance requirements for legal entities and ensure completeness and accuracy of legal entity internal and external audits with solid knowledge of Mexican GAAP and USGAAP accounting standards. IFRS knowledge is a plus.

 

The position requires working in a fast-paced environment and constantly changing priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

Accouting designation preferred At least 2-3 years accounting or audits experience. Good technical accounting background and experience in accounting and reporting. Mexican GAAP & US GAAP knowledge and experience is required, IFRS is a plus . Proficiency in MS-Office applications (Advance Excell skills) and Essbase/analytical software (PowerBi, Hive, Yellowbrick, Phyton). Working knowledge of Data Analytics. Sound understanding of financial systems and processes as well as control environment. Solid written and verbal English communication skills Ability to collaborate across geographies in a complex structure and deliver on customer expectations. Demonstrated integrity, innovation, teamwork, and excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

Support internal and external audits including review the internal/external audit requests with process owners, participate in meetings, work with the process areas to frame a response to the auditor and monitor, report and escalate the progress of audits. Responsible to complete and report on audit progress and financial control dashboards. Maintain inventory of spreadsheets used by Market Controllership and perform testing of the same to ensure compliance with American Express spreadsheet control policy. Perform internal control self-assessment by testing and reporting for processes owned by market controllership. Support in completing the annual Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) and Attestation for Controls owned by Market Controller to satisfy the regulatory compliance requirements. Support the identification of new processes within Controllership, identification of inherent risks through the completion of the Risk Assessment Questionnaire (RAQ), Support Manager to implement and test controls and process certification for new procedures. Review the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the area and propose changes/ updates if needed. Identify opportunities for process improvement and create efficiencies in monitoring the integrity and completeness of financial statements. Perform other ad hoc financial reporting, analysis and tasks as required.
