Division Specific Information:

The Immunodiagnostics Division (IDD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific aims to improve the management of allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases by providing healthcare professionals with advanced diagnostics technologies and clinical expertise. Our key businesses: allergy, autoimmunity, and systems.

The primary responsibility of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst is to provide data-driven insights and useful analyses to support the organization’s financial goals. This role is responsible for forecasting and reporting revenue and expenses, financial planning and analysis, as well as handling certain accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively and succinctly. The candidate should have a strong ability to analyze different parts of a problem and add insights to drive financial success.

What Will You Do?

Build and maintain accurate revenue and expense forecasts, using historical data and market trendsAnalyze financial data to identify key drivers and trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-makingConduct financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planningPrepare and assist in the completion of the annual budget plans, STRAP, and monthly/quarterly business reporting.Timely and accurate budget and forecast inputs aligned with corporate reporting requirements, including loading to HFM/CMR and PLN.Prepare financial models and scenarios to evaluate the financial impact of various business decisionsMonitor and report on sales and other key performance indicators, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvementInterpret data and clearly communicate business insights that are understandable to non-financial team membersPerform financial statement analysis and variance analysis to identify and explain discrepanciesAssist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principlesDrive continuous improvement and uses systems to increase controls and efficienciesEnsure effective data security and controls within ERP, financial systems, and data flowsOccasional travel for sales meetings and trainings

This position is located at our office in Portage, MI, which is the US headquarters.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related focus; CPA, CFA, or master’s degree preferred, but not requiredExperience: 4+ years experience in financial analysis or finance preferredStrong analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detailEffectively communicate both written and verbally with all levels in the organizationAbility to work with various systems and data sources and assimilate required informationComfortability with large amounts of data and identifying key trends, variances, and summarize with a high degree of accuracyMust be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, experience with Power BI is a plus
