Job Description

The Financial Analyst will report to the Motion EU Business Unit Controller and dotted line report to NA Seats & Motion Accounting Manager.  This potion will be accountable for producing timely and accurate financial statements while demonstrating accountability and ownership for Motion business.  The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Accounting Manager to manage workflows, meet all monthly reporting obligations, prepare analysis of financial data and other duties.  This role will demonstrate the ability to look ahead and anticipate future trends and not only report actual results but predict future results.  The Financial Analyst will communicate financial concepts to all levels and be able to explain the story behind the numbers.

Compiles and reports all monthly financial reports required by ITW Financial PoliciesAnnual Plan (Budget) to actual analysis and reportingPrepares and reports Front-To-Back & Segmented P&L data along with sales forecasting analysisReviews and finalizes the financial justification for all Capital & large expense requestsPlay key role in preparing audit materials, including any documentation, and ensures that all entries are entered into the system properlyPrepares all payroll and all general ledger journal entriesReview and complete accounts reconciliation in timely mannerAssist with account receivables and accounts payables when neededCommunicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the publicAssist Operations, Engineering and Sourcing teams with data and project managementLeading and providing strong guidance with ITW Toolbox initiativesServing as a backup and/or assisting, as needed, to the Accounting ManagerOther tasks and duties as assigned

QualificationsEducation/Experience: Bachelor’s degree - B.A. /B.S. from four-year College or University in Accounting or Finance.  CMA or CPA a plus1-3 years of experience in Accounting function or demonstrated strong learning capabilityExposure to P&L and Balance Sheet reportingAbility to maintain discretionAbility to demonstrate a strong analytical mindsetAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to identify areas for opportunity or simplification and implement best practicesStrong knowledge of AccountingStrong Microsoft Office skillsStrong communication & presentation skillsDrive to learn, grow, and succeedMust be eligible for employment in the United States
